뉘앙스 · 쓰임
incidentally나 by the way는 대화에서 자연스러운 ‘그런데/덧붙이자면’에 가깝고, parenthetically는 더 격식 있고 ‘본론에서 잠시 벗어나 덧붙이는’ 느낌이 강합니다. 문자 그대로 괄호 표기를 말할 때는 in parentheses가 더 쉽고 흔합니다.
격식 있는 단어이므로 일상 대화에서는 as an aside, by the way, incidentally 등을 더 많이 씁니다. 문장부호를 설명할 때는 parenthetically도 가능하지만, 학습자에게는 in parentheses가 더 명확할 수 있습니다.
