[Old French]standard는 중세 영어를 거쳐 들어온 말로, 원래 ‘군기, 깃발’을 뜻하던 Old French 계열의 말에서 발전했습니다. 여기에 동사를 만드는 -ize와 과거분사·형용사 어미 -ed가 붙어 standardized가 되었습니다.
